How Many VMs Can You Run on a Standard Blade Server? 40? 80? 150? Not Even Close!

In this session, we’ll cover the architecture that GreenPages used during VMworld to run and
manage more than 450 virtual desktops on a single blade. We’ll take a deep dive into
the technologies that enabled us to accomplish such density levels and how extreme VDI
scalability is going to fundamentally change how organizations run their IT and their business.

This session will also cover some of the leading vendors in the VDI space as well as real world
examples of how GreenPages has successfully integrated VDI into our customers’ infrastructures.

vCloud: Determining Where the Technology Might Fit in Your Organization—
and Where It May Not.

Cloud computing will be changing the way IT resources are utilized, giving users a way to
consume technology resources without consuming IT staff resources. It’s a way of distributing
systems in a defined way that builds security into the deployment model. In this session, we
will review VMware VCloud Express and discuss vCloud API which allows current request systems
to be linked into the vCloud design. In addition, we will talk about how chargeback, auto
provisioning, and capacity on demand works.

We will be going over the components that make up the current vCloud offerings, the new
innovations coming out in the next release, and some of the high level operations and disk
and network considerations. In addition, we will review some reference architectures that
GreenPages is currently in the middle of building for our ISP customers.
