GreenPages Enterprise Consultant, Michael Berthiaume, Earns Coveted VMware VCDX Technical Design Certification
Joins Elite Group of Less Than 100 Expert VMware Design Architects Globally
Kittery, ME—June 18, 2012—GreenPages Technology Solutions, a leading cloud and virtualization consulting and integration firm, announced today that Michael Berthiaume, Enterprise Consultant for GreenPages, has earned the prestigious VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) certification. The VCDX program is designed for veteran professionals who want to validate and demonstrate their expertise in VMware virtual infrastructure. Michael is only the 84th person in the world to receive the VCDX certification and joins an elite group of design architects highly skilled in VMware enterprise deployments.
VMware Certified Design Experts earn their certification by building on their VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification. Each expert has taken the extra steps of achieving both the VMware Certified Advanced Professional on Datacenter Administration (VCAP-DCA) and the VMware Certified Advanced Professional on Datacenter Design (VCAP-DCD) certifications as well as successfully defending a VMware vSphere-based infrastructure design and implementation plan in front of an evaluation panel of VMware experts.
“Defending my design in front of the top VMware people in the world—the people who write the books—was a bit intimidating but at the same time, thrilling,” said Berthiaume. “It’s not every day you get the opportunity to test your technical knowledge in front of experts of this caliber.”
A key part of the VCDX certification is the applicant’s ability to map the technical aspects of the VMware solution design to the business requirements of the proposed organization. “I based my design on a few different configurations I put together for customers at GreenPages,” said Berthiaume. “It’s crucial to illustrate the risk, constraints, and opportunities for business goals in any solution. Our customers need designs that will work in the real world and in their own unique environments within their own specific parameters.”
VMware Certified Design Experts are recommended as expert resources for organizations looking to optimize their IT environments. “GreenPages and Michael Berthiaume have proven to the VMware certification evaluation board that they both are more than qualified to design and architect a datacenter infrastructure based on the VMware platform,” said Chris Cottam, Senior Director, Global Education, VMware.
