GreenPages Technology Solutions Acquires VAR Division of Managed Technology Partners
Expands Managed Services and Engineering Talent; Accelerates Unified Communications, Enterprise Virtualization, and Data Center Strategy
Kittery, ME—November 05, 2009—GreenPages Technology Solutions, a national IT consulting and integration company, announced that it is has acquired the VAR division of Boston-based Managed Technology Partners (MTP)—a move that accelerates GreenPages’ unified communications, virtualization, and data center strategy.
MTP’s VAR division provides both managed services and strategic project services to clients throughout the Northeast. By acquiring the VAR division of MTP, GreenPages expands its engineering expertise, as well as adds a comprehensive suite of managed services offerings which include network, server, and security management.
“This positive transaction strengthens GreenPages’ position as one of the top consulting and integration companies in the Northeast,” said Ron Dupler, GreenPages’ CEO. “Both GreenPages and MTP are excited to be offering clients such a talented converged technology organization.”
MTP is retaining its national IT services channel division that provides VARs, retailers, manufacturers, solution providers, and software vendors with packaged onsite and 24x7 remotely managed IT services to offer to their small and medium-sized customers. Services include national onsite installations, maintenance, help desk, PC management, Server and Network Management, Voice Services, and Managed Security.
Managed Technology Partners will continue to be led by CEO and Chairman Peter Cowie. “This move allows MTP to focus exclusively on its national channel business serving the SMB market, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible IT services and solutions,” said Cowie.
The transaction significantly enhances GreenPages’ engineering team with Cisco CCIEs and CCNPs, HP Master ASEs, and Microsoft MCSEs joining GreenPages’ technology organization; the additional talent brings the total number of cross-trained engineers to more than 50.
